3.1.3 - /etc/host.conf

  • /etc/host.conf: Resolver configuration file

3.2 - Lookup

host is a simple utility for performing DNS lookups. It is normally used to convert names to IP addresses and vice versa.

host hostname

Example:

host ccr.oracle.com
ccr.oracle.com is an alias for lb-ccr.oracle.com.
lb-ccr.oracle.com has address 141.146.54.49
